Today is a (Ben) Thankful day

Is it possible for someone to be filled with gold? Or stitched together with holy thread... every square inch, every fleck of this person is outstanding and remarkable in every way.
There is no other justification for his sweet delightfulness.

We had a little scare these past few weeks. My sweetheart was very sick. He suffered a high fever pretty consistently for three weeks. It was unexplained.  He had virtually no other symptoms other than was struck with severe fatigue and malaise. He was not eating much and sleeping all the time. He was pale and looked generally very ill. Doctors were perplexed. We did several rounds of blood work and abnormalities were present in his white blood count, but they could not tell us why. They just kept saying it was a "fever of unknown origin". What ever that is. So we'd search every possible thing online....Note to self.. avoid that.. not the best idea to search symptoms online, pretty scary. He received a priesthood blessing and thought he'd just let it run its course. But when it would not go away and he continued to be SO sick our doctor decided it was time to refer us to an infectious disease doctor to seek further testing and diagnose. Eventually he lost 10 pounds and even though Ben was great minimizing his poor condition every day, our concerns continued to increase.

Thanksgiving came, slicing the turkey was about all he could do. He ate maybe a cup and half of food.  It was a great day and was a first for us, spending Thanksgiving without family. Instead we enjoyed the day with great friends, but in the back of my mind was the unease I had mounting for my precious.  Saturday night came, he was arched up in a  fetal position on the couch, shivering and almost comatose with a 102 fever.

Feeling rather desperate, I decided to extend a humble appeal to family and friends (that might as well be family) to fast that upcoming Sunday. He woke up Sunday morning again, with what was becoming his standard aches and fatigue. He went to church with the rest of the family to hear one of our sons give a talk in sacrament meeting. He immediately left for home at the conclusion of that meeting to sleep. By dinner time, he was felling …better. Cautious to say he felt “good”, he huddled up in a cozy chair by the fireplace waiting for the fever to come back with its typical vengeance. It never did.

Ben and I could feel the prayers and faith reaching toward heaven all day. Monday morning came and I heard him laugh with the boys in the kitchen, the first time in days…. Oh It was good medicine. He laid low that day and by dusk we were filled with the greatest sense of gratitude for the powerful healing powers of faith, fasting and fervent prayers. He was healed. Perhaps it had just ran it course and what ever wicked virus his body was fighting had given up the fight on its own, but I choose to believe that God does hear and answer prayers and perhaps used this as a mini miracle and testimony builder for all who participated. There were dozens and dozens of family and dear friends  (young and old) who participated in this fast and I am affirmed in thinking that we DID witness Gods tender healing mercies on my sweet husband.

Today, (and forever)  I am so grateful for him! He is so special.
I (we) am also SO grateful for such loving and supportive friends and family that sacrificed in our behalf. We love you!

SO Glad to have him back!!!
