Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one's self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily. ~Thomas Szasz* I am so thankful that summer break is here.
* I am grateful I can put away "task oriented Mom" for a few months and enjoy my kids. Enough with the intensity and seriousness and deadlines, we are all ready for a snuggle and a giggle with no expiration.
* I am grateful that my kids and all their innocence have a magical way of teaching me things.
* I am grateful for a great school year and the great efforts my kids put into excelling. The are such good boys.. 7th and 5th grade here we come.. yikees!
* I am grateful for my baby named Burger. He is so sweet and joyful and yummy to smell (and taste).
* I love having a daughter. I can not imagine what life would be like without her. Come fall she will be in all day kindergarten and I am hurting already.
* I am grateful for a great extended family that is loving and supportive.
* I am grateful for an excellent ward and that is strong and focused.
* I am grateful I am SO behind on my blogging (sigh)... that means we have been living life to the fullest. My focus as of late has been to live in the moment and the month of May has proven itself to require all of my focus because the moments are fleeting.
* I am grateful that I am living my dream. Being a mother and loving it is the choicest of blessings.
* I am grateful for the opportunity I was given to attend Womens Conference at BYU in May with my mother and sisters and heard Sister Beck say these words....
"I feel a great urgency for the daughters of God to do all they need to do to strengthen and lift...Go to the temple and pay attention!...Education is wonderful, but being able to feel the Lords power and spirit upon us is the ultimate education we can achieve. With that we have power and influence, without it we will not be able to navigate in this life, the adversary will pick us off one by one we will be drawn off course with the many many voices that are out there distracting us, but with the Lords spirit upon us we are strong and solid and will be able to walk with him... We have to know what our responsibilities and how we fulfill those...when our priorities are out of order and we loose power..."I needed to hear those words. Power is what I need.
I am grateful for life.
Life is great. I love it.
(lots more posts to come now that schools out.... and yes.. still going private... eventually)
