Home Again

Every house where love abides and friendship is a guest, is surely home, and home sweet home for there the heart can rest.
~Henry Van Dyke

Home again home again riggity jig!

Hello friends, family and fellow followers. We have ended our summer recess. Wow we had a great time. We had so much dang fun, that sort of frolicking escapade I am sure is not permitted for grow adults, but oh well we did not get caught. We had a great fill of family and dear friends. We love you all and miss you and are anxious to see you again soon.

Visiting Utah serves as a yet another great reminder that I am so grateful we do not live in Utah. I LOVE Utah but only to visit, not to live there. It is truly beautiful, culturally thick (for good or bad) and really a great deal of fun but I love being out in the mission field.

Since being home, I received a warm welcome from a sweet little fire ant that took a chunk of my ankle, guess he missed me. I still have not opened my stack of mail or unpacked all our bags, but I HAVE cooked and even taken pictures. It feels good to be home. I am in the PROCESS of updateing my blogs (as you can see) and I rather like them however unfortunately deleted my blogroll (*&&#%$@!) and will soon get updated on our adventures. Ben has gone to Chicago for the week so things are relatively quite and hopefully that will lend itself to getting caught up on my life. Meanwhile Douey and Burger have rediscovered every new toy and trinket in our house (for good or bad) and have unnecessarily made monster messes in every room. Ahh it feels SO good to be home again.

Hope you are all enjoying your summer.

XO

Riggity Jig! Glad you are back to your home in Texas. I don't know what you are talking about... I LOVE Utah and hope to live here forever and ever! FYI... I really do think taking shoes off is a good idea and I'm sure your carpet looks much better than mine for it! Have fun getting settled back into your routine.

Fire Ants?!? Doug tells the kids about those all the time. Growing up in texas is synonymous with those evil little bugs, apparently.

Jen, We SO agree w/ your living in UT feelings. We LOVE living away and LOVE visiting and having the wonderful family gatherings that are there; the love and gratitude for family grows in their absence and we do miss out on not seeing them more, but we adore living in the 'mission field' -- we hope to see y'all soon!
