Gentlemen Broncos Premier

We had a night out on the town with our dudes to see the new Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre) movie "Gentlemen Broncos" with Germaine from Flight of the Concords (one of our Favs). It premiered here in Austin for the "fantastic fest movie festival". It was great company not so great movie... totally not my type of movie, there were some good laughs though and the experience was fun. Good times!

Brady, Munn Powell (the DP and good friend of ours) and Ben.

Dude in glasses = Jared Hess

Happy Birthday Burger Baby

Burger had a great birthday. He was so excited! We make BIG deals about birthdays around here. We had a fun family celebration in the morning and then that evening after church the Andertons came over to celebrate with Sam since it was Abe's birthday too:) Our great friend Stacie made a y-u-m-m-y pound cake with fruit frizzle, it was fabulous.

This was Nattys (and Abe's) gift to Sam... sooo cute!

Natty and I 3 1/2 years ago approx 4-5 months along with what would be Sam and Abe.

Burger and Abes Birthday Party

On Saturday the 19th we had a little friend birthday party with Sam his BFF Abe (our partners son) who was born the same day. We did it at our neighborhood park and made it a pajama party and served breakfast since it was in the morning. The boys had a great time!

These 2 little boys have such a bond and connection, one you certainly could not force or replicate. It continues to amaze me (us) how aware and concerned they are of one another. Someone that serves in nursery told me the other day her observation of these boys, "that they are always tandem, where ever they go and whatever they do". They were kindred spirits from the begins. They were only 2 hours apart, and were clearly connected from the preexistence. They really love each other a great deal.

Playing in the Rain

Occasionally our oldest boy... that is turning into a man, reveals to me that he is still that little tiny boy inside that he once was. He came home from school yesterday, it was pouring rain (yeah!) and he wanted to go jump in the rain :) Ahhh, I love seeing him like this. It made my heart smile and squeal with delight.

Sleeping Angel and a Crawling Devil

Isn't she an absolute angel? I am telling you it took all the control I could muster not to eat those lips!!!!!!

AND THEN THIS! Is what I found while looking through a stack of clothes I had placed upstairs by Burgers room. I had put it there while he was napping and never managed to actually get them put away, anyway while I was looking for Doubies PJ shirt this came crawling out of the folded clothes. It does not look nearly as menacing here as it did fully extended and crawling all over my babies clothes! AHHHHHHH!!!

Visit from Grandma Jerri

We had the most pleasant visit from our sweet precious Grandma Jerri. She came on a Monday and left Thursday so life was busy and she was fabulous, she just plugged into our life and did what we did, which was a a lot of business.

Nutty Brown Cafe kids night. That was fun!

Lunch with the twins.

Lunch with Eddie.

At the pool. Isn't she pretty and to think she is 67...Gasp! I know, who would have ever guessed, she acts and looks like she is 45. She is just beautiful.

We love her so much, she is the best grandma and a wonderful person. She is so generous and loving. Thanks Mama for squeezing us into you busy life. Come back soon. Love you!
XO

Catering Gig for Vegas

Natty and I were hired out for some Yummy Fun Catering for a Fueld commercial. They shot this spot for the "What Stays in Vegas" campaign...not thrilled about Vegas but we have bills to pay. Anyway, it was a very successful shoot and everyone loved the food. Check out those cupcakes, yeah dude!

First Day of 4th and 6th Grade

Wow, where has the time gone. What happened to my "little boys". Ahh heck I love them so much.

The twins are doing great. They both have fantastic teachers and are involved with school Choir, Lego Robotics Club, piano and football. They are going to have a terrific year.

Eddie stared middle school this year. That has been adjustment, 7 teachers/classes a locker (3 to be exact) and a new appreciation for organizational skills. He is a super easy going and relaxed kid and has taken everything in stride. I am so proud of him. He is involved with football, and school band playing the Euphonium (small Tuba).

Hooray for great kids!

1st Day of Preschool

Angel Face had her very 1st experience with real preschool. It has been in a few weeks now and she is thriving. She loves it! Sweet little Scooby Doo!

Bubba Surgery

Our little Bubba had surgery on August 12th. He had his tonsils and adenoids taken out, what the heck are adenoids you ask??? well here is a diagram.

He has had chronic tonsillitis since he was a little baby. He had every symptom know to man (or kid) for the condition. He snored, was a mouth breather, had sleep apnea, a sleep walker, prone to strep and allergies, had extreme halitosis (bad breath)... and so on. So when we met with the ENT he barely had to look in his throat to see the considerable swelling and inflammation and said he was a "hands down candidate for this procedure" so we signed him up.
This was us hanging out before surgery killing time.

And off he goes...

After surgery the surgeon said his inflammation was sever and his adenoids were "impressive". He kept using the word "impressive" I finally had to ask what he meant by that. He said they were covered in "gunk... puss, mucus all kids of stuff". So to sum it up it was a great thing we did it. He went in to depth about warning us about the recovery and rough it would be. I guess I was still surprised how bad it really was! It was horrible bordering on sever. Because of the way they cut the the tonsils and adenoids out and not stitching them up, it leaves open wounds (think of how bad one cancer sour hurts) that bleed, scab up, slough off and repeats itself, that process is very painful. He was on narcotic pain medication for 2 weeks straight, even throughout the night and had a few days of terrible nausea and vomiting. It was awful but the end result has been worth it.

This sweet boys is now back to normal. He feels great, is happy, breaths better, sleeps better and even his breath is remarkably better, yeah!
