Merry Christmas 2010
Friends and Family
Well.... on the eve of a fantastic and magical Christmas day, I have come to terms with the fact that there will not be Christmas cards sent out this year from this Hurst Family. I do not know ever in my adult life where I have not sent out Christmas cards. Oh well, I suppose we were too busy doing other things that it just simply never got done (... neither did neighbor treats (gasp). SO in lieu of that, this is our Christmas card for 2010.
2010 has proven to be another year full of growth and progress. Not only are we all a year older and (hopefully) wiser too we have had the wonderful blessing of making some big changes to our life. After over 4 years in "temporary mode" living as a renter, waiting for our business to take root here in Texas before we felt confident in buying, we finally purchased a home in September. It was a home we found back in April and loved, but we knew it would be messy as it was being listed as a short sale. It was a fight, but well worth it. It is a fantastic house, we love every square inch. It fits our big (growing:) family and better then anything else, it is exactly where we knew we needed to be.
Bens business (Fueld Films) had it's best year yet. We hired a writer and good long time friend of Bens in August 2009. He has been a heaven sent in so many ways. They also hired a local and very experienced in-house producer who is amazing and we all love her to pieces. They moved into a bigger office just down the hall from where they were and everything steadily continues to to get more and more awesome. He is my love bug, my confidant, my very best friend and we are all crazy about him. He is SO good to me, sometimes I am so overwhelmed with how we feel for each other, I am going to burst. I am a very blessed woman.
As for the family. They are all thriving and doing superb.
* Eddie, is in 7th grade and though he is burly and nearly as tall me, I am sure he is a teddy bear on the inside. He discovered a love for technology and art this year in school and continues to prove he is the easiest kid to have around.
* The Twins are in 5th grade, Fish still thinks and dreams skating. He is an "A" student and was chosen along with his twin brother and 5 other 5th graders to be on the peer mediator team at their school, apparently quite an honor since you are chosen by your peers and the academic team.
* Bubba, is funny and spontaneous and a ball full of energy. He is a great kid that loves to long board, make believe and tackle his brother. He too is an "A" student and just so much fun.
* Dooey, well there are not enough words to express how prefect and adorable she is in every way. She is treasured! She started kindergarten this year (Texas is all day) and she loves gymnastics. She is a junk food kid and runs around like a happy little pixie day and night. Pure joy.
* Burger baby, well he too is quite perfect. Quite possibly the sweetest 4year old boy I have ever seen. He is easy, sweet, tender, compliant and so very considerate. He loves his family, everything else really seems secondary for him.
As for me, Jen, the so called aurthor of this moderately neglected blog. Well I am happy. Very. There is not more more to say.
One of the newer bits of news threading out of the Hurst home is that we are expecting our 6th child in early summer. We are so very excited. We just found out we are having another boy! There was a moment of greif and morning with that news as we wanted badly for Douey to have a little sister. She has been talking about a sister for years, saving her old clothes and toys for this furture and hypothetical baby sister she talks about. She was rather disappointed but quickly recovered and is now happy with whatever, as long as she can be my little helper. As for Ben and I.... well we both knew it was a boy and I feel humbled and very honored to be the mother (and father) of so many boys. My Heavenly Father must see something in me I am blind to but I will do all that I can to raise to the occasion of bringing up 5 rowdy boys into righteous honorable men. That is a huge responsibility and one we feel very blessed to have.
We wish all of you the most blessed season and the happiest new year. We are tremendously grateful for the abundant blessing we enjoy and especially for the blessing of believing fervently in the Lord Jesus Christ. That testimony and knowledge stands paramount in our lives and precedes all the happiness and peace that pours out upon us. We are forever grateful for the love and influence of a fabulous family and loyal friends.
Best of wishes for the new year!
Much Love
The Hurst Family
